They may be from Burlington, but Strangefolk has gathered a large following around the greater New York area. The folk/ rock group has not announced any N.Y. show dates for 2018, but fans can get a chance to see them in Boston, MA at the Paradise Rock Club on Jan. 18 and again in Waterville, ME at the Waterville Opera House on Jan. 20. Tickets go on sale Sept. 22 at noon.

Those who are unfamiliar with Strangefolk should definitely give them a shot if they’re in the Waterville or Boston area. They’re a seasoned group and have recently joined forces once again after a decade on their own. The group was created by Reid Genauer and Jon Trafton (guitar and vocals) in their college days at the University of Vermont circa 1990. They played around their campus and eventually recruited Erik Glocker (bass) and Luke Smith (drums) and created Strangefolk, flaunting catchy folk rock riffs with an improvisational twist all across the state.

Again, their 2018 tour has yet to be released past January so there might be some time before they come around the New York area. The trip to Massachusetts would be worth the while as it can be expected that they’ll give it their all for their first two shows.
